Welcome to the Dance of Life
This movement practice invites you to come as you are. Through music, dancing and the energy of the group, rediscover your natural way of moving and tap into your vitality, creativity and playfulness. The more present we are, the more every moment becomes an opportunity for connection, growth and joy.
What a Biodanza class feels like
Each class has its own theme, woven into a carefully crafted sequence of dances, each paired with music that invites you to express what you feel in the moment through movement.
We begin by reconnecting with our body and our natural impulse to move. From there we explore a range of rhythms and qualities of movement, awakening vitality and inviting play and expression, before the pace slows and melody and harmony take over, where we discover our capacity to rest in movement and the importance of slowing down. Then we return to a livelier rhythm, to bring awareness back to the world outside and send you on into the rest of your day.
This is an invitation to be fully present, to connect with yourself and others, and to experience the joy of being alive.

New to Biodanza?
You don't need to know how to dance or have any previous experience. I guide you through each dance, and there is no right way to move. Your uniqueness is part of what makes the group and the dance richer.
Biodanza is for anyone curious about embodied practices that invite them to connect with their vitality, creativity, heart and joy, whatever your age, gender, level of fitness or comfort with movement. You are welcome.

Collaborations
Bringing Biodanza to your community
I have had the pleasure of bringing Biodanza into different groups and communities, and I love discovering what emerges when we dance together in a new space.
Whether it is a workshop, a special gathering or an experience created alongside another practice, I am open to exploring new possibilities to bring people together and build community through the transformative power of Biodanza.

Biodanza and Gestalt coaching
A space to continue exploring
Biodanza can bring awareness to things that are already happening in you. Two things that matter to you can compete for your attention, and sometimes they seem to pull in different directions.
If you would like to explore that, or anything else that comes up for you during a class, we can arrange a Gestalt coaching session at another time to talk about the dilemma, make sense of what you noticed, and explore what it may mean to you.

I don't want to lose myself.
Biodanza is the circle of life: creativity, vitality and the pleasure of living, connection with nature and the universe, the acceptance of human diversity without discrimination.
Testimonials
What people say about Biodanza
Diana, what makes your classes so special is that you make everyone feel so very included, valuable and good about themselves.
Through dance and movement to lively, rhythmic, and playful music and slower, melodic, evocative music, Biodanza is a wonderful way to get out of your head and into the present moment.
Frequently asked questions
What you may want to know
Do I need any dance experience?
No. There are no steps to learn and nothing to get right. Biodanza encourages you to restore your natural movement and self-expression rather than choreography, so there is nothing to keep up with and no way to be behind.
What should I wear, and what should I bring?
Something comfortable that you can move freely in. We dance barefoot, or in soft indoor shoes if you would rather. Bring water and whatever else you need. That is the whole list.
Will I dance with other people?
Connection is an essential part of Biodanza, and I will guide you through some dances that invite you to move and interact with one other person or with the group. You can explore connection at your own pace, respecting your own boundaries and other people's.
What kind of music do you use?
Biodanza is a science-based practice and the music is chosen carefully. We use a wide variety of genres and styles, selected because they evoke positive emotions and an instinctive urge to move: Brazilian, traditional jazz, African, tango, Latin, classical, instrumental. In the first part of the class the music stimulates our vital energy. In the second half we move into music rich in melody and harmony, inviting the nervous system to settle and the body to find balance.
What if I do not have much energy that day?
During a class I talk about self-regulation, which means listening to your body and following what it tells you. You set your own pace, so how much you move is yours to decide from one exercise to the next.
